Ray P Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 Four Presidents and three First Ladies have kept parrots as pets.
Talon Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 ???????.....???????????........boy do I feel stupid.........
Luvparrots Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 Let's see, put on the thinking cap, or just google: Presidents Andrew Jackson, Ulysses Grant, William McKinley, and Theodore Roosevelt kept parrots in The White House. President McKinley's double-yellow headed Amazon was very popular with White House guests because it often shouted "Oh, look at all the pretty girls!" Theodore Roosevelt had a Hyacinth Macaw named Eli. He was afraid of the bird's beak, but there is no record of Eli being a "biter". First Ladies Martha Washington, Dolley Madison, and Grace Coolidge had pet parrots.
katana600 Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 Well look at that, we are in good company... and so were the folks in the white house. I am going to have to go for a tour and look for evidence. Another great informative topic Ray. Thanks.
