Safe and natural wood branches for birds include the following. SAFE WOOD: Apple, Arbutus, Ash, Aspen, Beech, Birch, Cottonwood, Crabapple, Dogwood, Elm, Fir, Hawthorn, Larch, Magnolia, Manzanita, Mulburry, Pear, Pine, Poplar, Sequola (redwood) Willow DANGEROUS WOOD: DO NOT USE THE FOLLOWING Apricoy, Cherry, Peach, Prune, Plum, Nectarine. This group of trees belong to the Prunus species. They contain Cyanogenic Glycosides which releases Cyanide if ingested. And for God's sake DO NOT USE PRESSURE TREATED WOOD. Ceader trees are another toxic tree as it has it's own oily toxin. I am sure there may be plenty more harmful trees around the world. Please do your own homework for the Country you live in.
