Guest Sulphiria Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 Hi! Im kind of new here and have posted a few times. Im a member of another birdie forum and after a terrible situation was brought to our attention, some of us got together and formed a plan for these guys. You can read about it at http://rescue.hopto.org/index.htm any and all help is greatly appreciated!
Jimmydreams Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 Am i the only other person that thinks this is a scam?
bran Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 Am i the only other person that thinks this is a scam? I kind of agree, it says they have posted a few times, and yet it shows only 1 for posts. Crafty people.
danmcq Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 I have no doubt this is a scam, you all right. There is no contact information, who they really are or where they are located. Just a link to send money to a shadow person out there somewhere in la-la land...
Greywings Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 The pictures don't show any terrible conditions, not enough environment pictured to form an opinion about.
TWIX Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 I checked and find out it's a website in Taiwan. Websites are what i am good at, and agree with everyone above, do not donate. This is SCAM 100%
katana600 Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 Thanks for all the skeptics and for tracking down the website. We make a policy of donating only locally for charities we can verify. This kind of thing just tugs at heartstrings but basically even under the best of the benefit of the doubt they are asking for help to buy this group of birds without an action plan of how they propose to "save" them or make life better for them.
Acappella Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 And of course they're counting on finding a lot of soft hearted people on a forum like this. Unfortunately for them, soft hearted does not = stupid.
Greywings Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 We do have a Welcome mat but none of us are "Doormats".
snoepgoed123 Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 Honestly, if this was legit, (which i'm doubting) OP would benefit from contacting petfinder.org thats the best chance for getting these birds adopted
