Guest Jocelyn
What comercial bird feed are you feeding your Grey? I see lots on fruits and vegies and diatary extras, but I want to have a better idea of what feeds are availible, and what brands to look for and which to stay away from, I am located in Canada if that helps... Luvparrots
ZuPreem's VeggieBlend, although my parrots don't really eat much of their pellets.
Spock
Maggie Here, Good thread. Right now we feed ZuPreem Veggie and Zupreem Nut to Tango the "TOO. Joe gets Zupreem Nut. All of them get TOP's Pellet's and TOP's seed, also Volksman safflower seed mix, plus their fresh foods and smash. Salsa eats all of the above but no pellets. This is all balanced with nuts and some fruit as a "Treat", Our IRN and conures eat the same less pellets, and our 'Tiels eat "Universal Lg Parrot mix" from Walmart, don't laugh, it's very high quality, and supplemented with veggies. Remember it's not what we like and want to feed them, but what they will eat. If your baby/s have a diet that you feel needs improving, read the labels and balance with other foods. A parrot can live a good and healthy life on a good pellet and seed mix, a little carrot, a little broccoli, a little green veggie and a nut or two, and don't forget the water...... murfchck
Maggie here, this is such a good question, nobody's answering? Okay, we feed our stuffed Macaw cornmeal stuffing........ Love that! My macaw and grey both get this but i get the pellets in two sizes for them. Fiesta Max seed mix also the Zupreem Nut with Roudybush and pretty bird fruit pellets mixed in it. Also all the veggies and yummies i can get them to eat. Fruit i limit to a grape, orange and apples, melons as i just hand it to them as treats, we get gnats really bad so no fresh food can be left out for any time, plus it isn't "good" for them! Amali
Harrison's High Potency - a staple that is almost always in her cage Harrison's Birdie Bread - she gets this rather often, loves it warmed up Goldenfeast mixes - I got several one pound samples here http://www.mysafebirdstore.com/cart.cgi?group=537&child=1312 recently and Amali LOVES them. I feed the nuts and dried fruit sparingly, but several good blends to choose from. Higgins Worldly Cuisines - Amali loves every flavor of their prepackaged cook and serve blends. TWIX
He is trying the food now, and hesitating. But he is eating a piece or two, then he leave the bowl to play a bit. I think he likes it, and i hope he finishes the whole bowl by tonight. Other than that, since many members recommended the brand, then i should trust that and continue buying it. Thanks or the wonderful feedback.
