Dusty Grey
Hi everyone, I’m trying to find the right cage for my African Grey, I was looking for something a little bigger than the one he’s currently got and found the Montana New Jersey any advice would be appreciated. Cheers http://www.northernparrots.com/montana-new-jersey-parrot-cage-prod97121a/ Edited May 22, 2013 by Dusty Grey
katana600
Hi and welcome to the forum. When I was looking at this cage link, I was wondering how difficult is would be to open the top and whether the perch has to be removed in order to give him a place to play up there. My cage is similar to this one http://www.northernparrots.com/bolivia-play-top-parrot-cage-2-colours-prod950550a/ I like that I can just open the door and Gilbert will climb up there to play and I don't have to change and move it. My guy is an older rescue and doesn't like me to mess with his cage so if I had to open the top it would upset him. It is hard to know what your home space will accomodate and how much Casper is out and what choices you have in your country. It is nice for you to be upgrading and making a great place for Casper to play.
judygram
The one Josey has is similar to this one: http://www.northernparrots.com/ventura-parrot-cage-antique-prod950020/ I like that it has a playtop on the side and I tend to prefer the other ones that have a play area on top without having to open the top of the cage to get to it, that way they can just go out the door and go to the play area without having to open and close it every day or every time you have to go out. Dusty Grey
Thank you for all the reply's and after seeing him today I think Casper would prefer to stick with a playtop, He currently has the Bolivia Play Top Parrot Cage that I got with him but thought it was time to get a new one as it's seen better days, What about this one? http://www.ideas-4-pets.com/rainforest-santos-play-top-parrot-cage-stone-555-p-4054.html
carlsjr
i have one of those open top cages and honestly i never use it. it scares me that something would happen to the perch that hold them open and crushes the bird as it crashes close. the playtop you chose is a much more practical and safer choice. **edit. use it meaning i never open the top. the front of the cage has a "porch" that when opened folds down so its like a little perch. i just open that and all is good.
