cheebamaster Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Just went to see the baby again today...around 9 weeks old now...red feathers are starting to pop up around her neck and the wings have all these red stripes around them. Anyone have any information on red-factor greys? Are the personalities the same as regular greys or am In for a whole new experience? I'm located in the USA by the way...heard this was pretty rare
Life is Greyt Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Personality will be the same-that being said we all know they all hav their own quirks . The red factor feathers may stay, or they might be replace with normal grey feathers after the first molt. They're pretty, so I hope they stay.
snoepgoed123 Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 you've got a grey with a red factor gene, thats for sure! Like Greyt said, the feathers may get lost during his/her molt, but those are some awesome feathers! (weirdly enough, save them, and if you want to sell em to crafters, those are some unique feathers!)
ariisamis Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 I agree they are beautiful. My baby flight feathers have lots of red in them. I hope they stay.
judygram Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 Some greys have these and they may or may not molt out but enjoy the uniqueness of it while it lasts and who knows they may stay, very pretty.
Doug Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 Ellie has a bit above her tail and on her thighs. I hope it stays after the first molt. (Especially since she has a nearly gray tail so the red factor is her only coloring...)
TWIX Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 Very beautiful , i have seen some Greys here with having the same case. Stunning
Talon Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 Very pretty. Talon had some red factor, but after she molted, it never came back.
