Ferdi Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Hi all. Our CAG, Ferdi, is 7 months old. We were told he was born with the few red feathers he had on his back. He now has red feathers scattered all over his body. He eats a varied diet of fruit, veggies and seeds/pellets. He is very active and VERY talkative. There doesn't seem to be any health issues, however we read conflicting reports on this. Should we be concerned?
Ray P Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Hi Ferdi I did a post for you in the intro, room about red factor greys and as long as your new bird has had a vet check and is ok you should sit bsck and enjoy your speckled grey.
judygram Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Some greys carry the red factor, some have it as babys and some it appears later, it may or may not molt out but just enjoy his uniqueness. Ray is right, as long as your grey has been checked out by an avian vet and deemed healthy then not to worry.
