scooter4n
So I did search and looks like coconut milk is a good thing for parrots. SO few weeks back I started introducing Lucy to coconut milk and she loves it. Drinks it like no tomorrow. It has great source of calcium, vitamins, nothing but good stuff. Here is my youtube video of it on my blog: http://www.myafricangrey.com/ Let me know if any of you feeding your greys coconut milk too. thanks
Greywings
Yes but I use it in the making of my birdy bread, soaking the dry ingredients with it prior to adding the eggs and fresh fruit & veggies. They all love it!

Doug
What about coconut "meat"? Any issue it that?
Greywings
Coconut meat is fine also, break off a piece and let them scrape away, would not give the meat too often as it is higher in fat, healthy fat but moderation is good.
Doug
I bought a coconut with the idea of making it into a foraging toy - drilling holes and putting stuff inside. I wondered if it was okay to leave the "meat" in there for her to try to get out and eat. I don't think she would eat enough to be a problem (she mostly amuses herself with any food other than her pellets...) The next question is how long I could leave the meat exposed to the air. A day? Two? Longer? Then I would have to clean it out and make it into a toy...

I bought 2 coconuts for "toys" but we dug the meat out and refridged it right away she REALLY liked it so Id imagine for a few hours it would be ok .... however ... to me it got really slimey and gross and I threw it out within a week from the fridge !!! BUT the toys are SOOOO stinking cool !!!!we had to let it dry in the sun for atleast a week!
