purchasing age?need help

hi guys,im about to get a CAG and the guy told me that its 9 month old and tamed, handfed and just whistling right now.is it ok to purchase the CAG on that age?

That is a very good age.

Have you been able to visit the bird yet?

Ask lots of questions, especially about what it is eating right now, so you will be prepared, should you decide to get it. Please keep us posted!

Sure it is ok, and it is young enough that it has not reached the independent stage, the only better age would have been a just weaned baby.

no he only sent me some pictures.ill go there on fri.how would you know if theres a problem with the bird...usually the physical signs.(if its sick).i know that there might be a chance that the seller would not tell it to me if there is a problem so i would just like to know some signs.but so far he told me its really healthy....cant wait friday ...i might call in tom or thurs hehehhe

Check to make sure the eyes are clear and bright, the nares are free from blockage are discharge, feathers in good condition, and make sure the vent (butt) is clean. If any of these seem to be not right with the bird then you may want to continue looking for a different one, or ask the guy if he will give you a health garentee and take the grey to a vet for a total check-up.

Arrior - That is a wise decision. If the Grey is in apparent good health and seems to select you and interact with you as well. It sounds like you may have found a fine CAG for yourself. :-)
