Hi All,

 

I am so excited to be in this group. I have just got a baby CAG.

Its around 7 weeks and presently hand feeding it.

 

KOKO has been with me for over a week now and doing well.

 

Just have a small question, what is the daily routine of a baby CAG.

A bird that young and so small has no daily routine other than to be fed, allowed to push around toys, allowed to sleep. The bird shouldn't be put in a cage. You nedd to make sure the bird is warm, the bedding kept clean, water is avalable, light petting is done. Normally, people don't buy unweaned babies because of potential problems.

 

Use the Nursery Section to post about your bird. This area is only to introduce yourself.

Hello Dan and welcome to our family and congrats on your new baby, looks adorable.

Dave is right about bringing home an unweaned bird especially a grey as there are so many potential problems but the damage is done. Have you handfed a bird before or do you have any other birds?

Please read thru the threads in the nursery room for lots of information and do ask questions you may have.

Welcome Dan and baby. You definitely have alot of work to do. You are about to be " mama bird!" LOL Quite young, to be adopted. Average is at least sixteen weeks. I am not judging, but there will be alot of work that you need to do. Are you ready for the challenge?I only ask, because we are here to help you. Nancy

Thank you all for the welcome and nice to be here with so much help especially at this time.

I have kept small birds and hand fed them before, but medium.big is a first time.

 

In this part of the world we do only get babies so young and I have no choice but to

get them at this age. if not others were adults and un-tamable.

 

I love hand feeding birds and have done that before, thanks.

 

At this stage I am feeding Koko 3 times a day hand feeding mix

and every 2nd day Oral re hydration Solution.

 

This is pretty exciting and I am hoping for the best.

 

I am also reading through tons of articles.

 

At this stage Kokos feathers are growing and her grip and body balance is getting better.

 

Will keep updating in the nursery section.
