Dave007 Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Nutriberies are used as a treat item. There's a bit of sugar and molasses in there which isn't good for a bird if it's given in large quantities.

DawL Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 Agreed...Nutri-Berries are great treats, but only treats. I personally use RoudyBush organic Pellets. My vet recommends RoudyBush to parronts as well.

birdhouse Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 My fids love them. They would live on them if I'd let them. But they get as much fresh food as I can stuff them with, TOP pellets & Nutri-Berries are just for treats.

brianlinkles Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 My amazon LOVES them my cag not so much. I use them as a treat only, with Dorothy (cag) I crush them and sprinkle on her veggies, it kind of gets her started eating them!
Wingy Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 When I had fids they weren't fans of Nutriberries. I didn't feed them seeds so I used it as a treat. I would take a small piece of banana, peach or a slice of peeled grape and roll it in the seed. They really enjoyed that treat and it was much less expensive.

Do look at the ingredient list and you may understand why I've chosen not too. As mentioned, they also aren't meant to be used as a staple. Merely an *occasional* treat.
tesla Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 so glad i came across this thread.. i just recently added these into his daily regiment (his diet is very varied, there is no 'staple'), but now it's still not too late to phase this out quickly to a 'treat status'
