Im about to make some toys for my gray, parrots love to chew on leather belts, is that safe material?

I can chop my old leather belt to make a toy?

and another material I was interested is wood. I was going to pickup some round sticks from Lowe's home improvement store to make play station and I was wondering what wood is save out of building material wood.

thanks all

Here is my question about making homemade toys ..... if you use newspaper should you avoid using anything in "colored" ink?

The colors in the ink are plant based. What you do want to avoid are those ultra shiny slippery magazine covers that are coated in varnish or uv coating. I can't tell you for sure that its toxic but I can tell you that the slivers from it when the paper bends and it flakes off it burns like heck when it gets imbedded in your skin.

ty I thought about that like the shiney inserts they put in our paper but I didnt know if the color print in newspapers would b ok too... thanks for responding!

The shiny colored stuff in newspapers is fine. Its that ultra shiny heavy cover of a magazine that is bad.
