Hello,

My timneh Koekie doesn't like palm oil. So I put it in the Nutribird handrearing. Because when I got Koekie I got it from his second owner. Koekie is handreared with Nutribird. (wow is that right?) I know the Nutribird pellets are not good, because it is bad for the intestines. But can it harm if I gave Koekie every week a little bit of Nutribird handrearing with palm oil??

I want to buy juvenile from Harrisons but I still have nutribird.

How do you give your grey palm oil?

Greetings Bianca

I use it to make birdie bread (Harrisons - it appears to be mostly their food ground up).

What do you use? Harrisons or Nutribird? Sorry, but I don't understand your last sentence. You mean that Harrisons looks like their food?

Yeah, I didn't understand that either. I have no experience with nutribird, as I feed my birds RoudyBush pellets, but I would imagine that if the food causes those issues, I wouldn't feed it at all. You are talking about pellets, right? Or are you speaking about the handearing liquid formula (baby bird food for hand feeding with a syringe or pipette)?

If you are talking about pellets, I would use 1/4 teaspoon a day of palm oil in their food. I would switch the pellets you are using if you are using nutribird, and go with your choice of a healthier pellet. You can mix the palm oil in with the pellets, or with maybe oatmeal, soak it onto a piece of toast, or something else your grey enjoys to eat.

I give harrison's high potency coarse as pellets. And I do the palmoil in Nutribird handrearing liquid formula.:)

I learned here that the Nutribird pellets are bad, so I'm wondering if it's bad if I gave the Nutribird handrearing liquid formula with the palmoil ones a week.

sorry if I'm hard to understand:P

No, not at all. What you said was worded perfectly, but could have many things (that is just the English language). :)

I have an Umbrella Cockatoo that I hand feed daily. He is 8 years old. I feed him Kaytee Exact Handfeeding Formula. All of the breeders I know, along with my vet's advice, say this is a great handfeeding formula. If Nutribird makes bad pellets, I would go ahead and assume that their formula is as well. Can you switch to Kaytee Exact?

Koekie is handraised with Nutribird by his previous owner. :( But I have whats left of it. Should I throw it away? I'm not reaising a bird with it, but Koekie likes it so I use it to give palmoil. I also can try to crush fruit and give it with palm oil. Maybe he doesn't notice.

I heard about Kaytee Exact, that's is good for birds with eczema. (what a wierd word :P Eczema, thank you wordtranslator :D) But I don't really know this brand, so I have to read about it first. I'm already happy that I make the choice between Zupreem and Harrisons. That was hard :P

Sorry for the confusion - I was trying to answer this question - "How do you give your grey palm oil?"

I give Echo palm oil in his birdy bread. The bread I use is Harrisons and I make it w/ the RPO instead of veg oil.

I also feed Harrison HP Coarse pellets.
