Doug Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 We (and by "we" I mean my wife) get carried away on Christmas. Not only do we have an insane about of "good" presents, Kel also wraps up anything she can think to purchase. (In addition to my new Canon 15-85 mm lens, I also received wrapped measuring cups, underwear, cutting board, a scrub brush for glassware, socks, etc.) The presents barely fit into our living room. Even the pets get a gift or two. But Kel didn't buy anything for Ellie. Luckily, I did. She was a bit hesitant at first: But, of course, as much as she likes ripping paper, she got into it: Finally, I had to help her a bit and then I attached it to her playstand... She's not as fond of it as I had hoped, but still played with it...
Luvparrots Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Very nice photos of your Ellie!!! Love those TAGs!
judygram Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Unlike children greys tend not to get excited about new toys as they are usually a little fearful of them to start with but glad Ellie decided to try her new plaything, she is a beautiful grey, thanks for sharing the pics with us. I missed you at the Christmas party for the bird club.
birdhouse Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Aww, very cute. I have gotten all of my fids that type of toy w/the traveling bead(s) because it seems like it would be exactly the right type of fun. None of them have ever bothered w/them & I have no idea why. But hopefully Judy's right & Ellie will do better w/hers once she warms up to it.
Doug Posted January 4, 2012 Author Posted January 4, 2012 Ellie is still young enough that she takes to a new toy immediately. But her enthusiasm may or may not be sustained... And, Judy, I wish I could've made it to the Christmas meeting, but I had to look after my mother-in-law while Kel was out and about with the kids... Such is life.
katana600 Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Thanks for the new pictures. Elegant Ellie. Her feathers are just perfect and she is a picture of good health. I come look at all the beautiful pictures and know that is the bird I visualize inside of Gilbert that will someday relax into. She is such a joy! I love that inquisitive little face and how calmly she just goes about her business while you take her picture. She has grown so much and her silver-grey eyes are just lovely. Gasp ;~) Her momma didn't wrap anything up for Ellie? You will have to share your treasures and bounty with her. Not the camera, but the scrub brush and measuring cups ought to be great fun for her. LOL. I have to admit, I got my husband a snow shovel and gloves one year for Christmas after the vacuum cleaner debacle on my birthday that month. That was thirty years ago and I have gotten more creative too.
