Hi i just got my African Grey a little bit over a month ago and he had a comprehensive exam and a Fecal Ova and Parasite exam. His Fecal Exam came back negative for intestinal parasites, What does that mean? is that a good thing or a bad thing? Thanks if anyone could explain:confused:

Oh and if its bad than how do i get this fixed? do i have to go back to the vet and ask for medication or peform further tests?

I agree with Talon. If your Grey would have had any problems, they would have given you the antibiotics at the same visit.

Sounds to me like you are just a worried parront, and that is perfectly normal, and shows you care for him, and his well being. I understand what you mean. I am guessing you were reading about "gram negative bacterial infections" and things of the sort, but this information is different than internal parasites. With a test for parasites, he will simply test positive or negative. "Gram Negative Bacteria" is a classification of Bacilli that would cause sickness, such as E. Coli. Hope that helps, and keep up the great parronting :)
