Luvparrots
I can't whistle very well either. Just a weak lame whistle. I say "woo woo" and my parrots return the call. Use a word/sound they/you like. It will work too.
JeffNOK
So what is a person to do if they can't whistle? I have never been able to whistle. Any ideas on a substitute?[/QUOT I like LuvParrots idea about saying a word like Woo-hoo or something. I also know of someone who used a kazoo to respond to parrot calls. Just food for thought. Wingy
I like LuvParrots idea about saying a word like Woo-hoo or something. I also know of someone who used a kazoo to respond to parrot calls. Just food for thought. I dug through the kids box and found a kazoo and a mini harmonica and neither were loud enough to be heard from the kitchen. I think someone at work has one of those bells where you hit the top to ring it. I'm going to look today and if I find it, ask to borrow it for the night to see if that sound carries enough. 6 inch thick plaster and lathe walls really deaden the sound.
