birdhouse Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 lol looks like I learned something new today. I've never heard of a hygrometer before. Since my house gets really dry in the winter, I think I'll try one, too. Thanks.

danmcq Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 Knowing the humidity level is important. I use this Hygrometer: http://www.theweatherstore.com/dihyth.html It is not the most accurate at +-5%, but it is close enough for ballpark. You can get +-1% Hygrometers, but the price is just too high in my opinion. I would recommend you ensure that whatever you purchase is at least +-5% or better. I keep the humidity in my home at 45% summer and winter. I must run the Humidifiers all year due to the dry climate AC in summer and Heater in winter reduces the level down to less than 20% here.
Codys Mom Posted November 18, 2011 Author Posted November 18, 2011 thanks Dan that one looks better then the one I was going to order I will probably order it next week , I usually start up the humidifier in December and run it tthrough the end of march , Michigan gets really dry in the winter but it's really humid here in the spring and summer time
