Hygrometers

it's almost time to get out the Humidifier so I want topurchase a hygrometer I need everyones opinion on this one I found at walmart and I forget is it 40 or 45 percent when you start running the humoidifier? so whats everyones opinion on this one sure can't beat the price and I think it's solar so no batteries needed

Knowing the humidity level is important.

 

I use this Hygrometer: http://www.theweatherstore.com/dihyth.html

 

It is not the most accurate at +-5%, but it is close enough for ballpark. You can get +-1% Hygrometers, but the price is just too high in my opinion. I would recommend you ensure that whatever you purchase is at least +-5% or better.

 

I keep the humidity in my home at 45% summer and winter. I must run the Humidifiers all year due to the dry climate AC in summer and Heater in winter reduces the level down to less than 20% here.

thanks Dan that one looks better then the one I was going to order I will probably order it next week , I usually start up the humidifier in December and run it tthrough the end of march , Michigan gets really dry in the winter but it's really humid here in the spring and summer time
