Bird Safe Wood

Does anyone know if American Hornbeam, (AKA Musclewood, Ironwood or Carpinus caroliniana) is parrot friendly? I found one source that indicated yes except for perhaps the leaves. I would like to use it for a playstand/perch. As the name indicates, it is a very hard wood with nice sinewy feel. And it is prevalent in my yard!

Ironwood is listed to have toxic leaves however the following site will help you out.

Thanks..The funny thing is that was the one site I managed to find myself! Great list without a doubt. Based on that info.... I am assuming, without the leaves, it should be fine?

You can't be sure the "Ironwood" on the list is a Carpinus. Many trees are called, "Ironwood."
