ashley
We just recently purchased a female african grey, she is 13 years old and very healthy. She came to us saying several things and continued to after she arrived at our home. One week ago she laid an egg (she is not around ANY other birds) then another three days later and another four days after that. She still makes noises when she knows we are around however she has stopped talkikng like she did. She acts normal when she is not laying however she has cut down on her talking. Is she likely to pick back up? We have had her almost one month and she has not picked up anything new at our house? This is our first grey and not to sure on time lines of her learning new things. Greywings
Leave the egg in the cage until she looses interest, if you remove the egg she will try to keep replacing it which may cause a drop in her calcium levels. You can add more dark leafy greens to her diet for the calcium, lower her protein intake, shorten her daylight length and give her more busy work.
