Talon
Took my 3 parrots to the vet today to get their nails clipped. their nail were like needles!! YIKES! All went well, they enjoyed the car ride very much. YES, I let them all out for the ride home, I looked like a tree! Curious, has anyone here taken them to the vet just for nail clipping? My vet charges $18.50 per bird. Wondered what the average price is elsewhere.
Luvparrots
My daughter helps me if my parrots need a nail clip, she clips I hold. Works for us.
pikachu
The place from which we purchased our CAG, charges $5/bird. Our avian vet charges a lot more. Maybe around $20?

I considered it, but after doing the math, its 24 nails! Plus, I don't have anyone willing to terrorize them and hold them properly.
Luvparrots
Ana Grey's breeder was fantastic, she handled her babies all the time and even clipped their nails so that they would not be afraid of it. Sterling's breeders were the same they played with Sterling and had him with them until I took him home, he was very well socialized and trusting. So both Ana Grey and Sterling Gris are very people friendly with me and unafraid of whatever I do. Now Louie, he is so busy (note the active videos of him) his nails are always in good shape, thank goodness for me.

The going rate is $5 to $7. Sometimes it's even cheaper when more than 3 birds are involved.
