ZephyrDarkwolf Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 I'm so excited about the newest breakthrough with Oscar that I have to share! He's been letting us pick him up from his various perches around the house with just our hands lately. Today, he let me take him from his cage (previously cage aggressive) with just my hand! I'm so happy! AND he's starting to be able to fly across the room to us instead of fluttering to the floor. I'm hoping that now he knows he can fly, he won't pluck his flight feathers anymore! Thanks everyone here for the help, reading everyone's posts has really helped me gain confidence with him! I look forward to many more steps forward!
Ray P Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 A life long road with many steps foward. That will never change.
MarcusCAG Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Congrats on reaching this new milestone together! I can 'hear' your happiness in your words.
JeffNOK Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 What I love about this forum so much is people like you who are taking this journey in baby steps and enjoying the ride. You have made great strides and the sky is the limit. You have a lucky fid and I know this is just the beginning. Best wishes.
danmcq Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Wonderful update! Your love, patience and reassurance with Oscar is paying off for you both.
birdhouse Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Love how happy you sound. You've earned it. It sounds like Oscar's progressing nicely. Really good to hear!
katana600 Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Oscar certainly is making great strides in your home. You are doing a wonderful job with him and he is showing that with his acceptance. There is nothing quite as wonderful as a result after much patience and understanding of his feelings in this transition time. Good for all of you!
