Hey guys i adopted an 8 month old BFA today. Her name is dorie. She lived with a buddy of mine since she was a chick. they hand fed her but as time went on they didnt have very much time for her. she hasnt been held in almost 3 months and shes alittle fiesty now. she has been out of her cage hanging out for the past 3 hours. when she was in her cage and i said step up she lifted her foot but im am nervous because when she is out and i do that all she wants to do is try to bite me. what should i do? she is used to me because i saw her all the time when she was at my buddies house. not at all acting shy.

Congratulations on your new fid. I'm sure that Dorie is just feeling out sorts in her new environment. Since she knows you, I'm sure she will come around soon. Best of luck and share pics and updates.

Give time for Dorie to settle in and she will come around. She may know you but she is in a new place.

My BFA Cricket is also a rehome and is 15 years old or so and we have had her almost 3 years.

Hi Joerawlings, congratulations on your re-homed Blue Front. I have had my Louie (BFA) for about a year and he and I are still getting to know each other. He was a little wild when I first got him and he will not let me touch him, but he tells me "I love you" and follows me around my home, so I guess we have a mutual understanding of our relationship. Hopefully he will come around and let me cuddle him some day. I will wait, I am a very patient lady. I look forward to seeing some pictures of your new friend and hearing more about her. What is her name?
