chezron
Do you know if the palm fruit from Syagrus romanzoffiana (Queen Palm or Cocos Palm) is edible for birds? We live in Southern California and these palms are all over the place. I would like to feed some to my birds if they are wholesome for them to eat. chezron
Thanks Dave, but I think those are from a different palm, Wodyetia bifurcata.
Dave007
Thanks Dave, but I think those are from a different palm, Wodyetia bifurcata. There's only one kind of queen palm nut. You don't have to buy them if you've got them around. birdhouse
Same question only different Are there any species of palm nuts that aren't safe?
Dave007
Same question only different Are there any species of palm nuts that aren't safe? There are no bad palm nuts. The closest thing concerning a bad nut is raw peanuts in or out of it's shell (they may have fungus). Those peanuts should be human grade fresh roasted which are sold in supermarkets. plus---avoid people who are nuts.
