Guest briansmum
i posted this in the other thread but figured since it is moving onto the subject of the conure i should repost here. the gorgeous little sun i am interested in and hopefully visiting this weekend comes with and XL macaw cage and there is no way i can take this cage, it's bigger than brians! surely a sun conure does not NEED cage this big, particularly when it will get good out of cage time what is a good size for a conure cage? Tari
I use this rule of thumb. Big enough they can have toys and spread their wings and not hit the toys. So the biggest you can fit into your house would be best.
Guest briansmum
i have space for a 3ft by 2ft ish (give or take a couple of inches) which considering is bigger than the cage the breeder gave me with brian i thought is pretty good. judygram
That is about right, Beccy, for a cage for a sun conure. My Sunny's cage is about that size and smaller than Josey's cage. They don't need all that big a cage, just like Tari said as long as they can stretch out their wings and not touch the sides. That macaw cage would be way too big, it would get lost in that big a cage. And if your sun is anything like my sun, she/he will want to be out as much as possible, a permanent fixture on your shoulder. Good luck this weekend when you go see it and let us know how it turns out.

judygram
It shows, Beccy, and if this is what you want then go for it, you only live once so have what you want, and I don't think you will be disappointed.

Guest briansmum
topaz is so adorable tari you obsess all you want! judy is right you only live once. i finally talked steve into getting another birdy and he's excited too, his only concern now is that with another cage there is NO room for furniture  i told him to shut up, who needs shelves when you have gorgeous creatures instead.
