Codys Mom Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 it's not sassy or Hobo ,I made a list and we talked about it and since I have named all the birds except Opey , Opey was already named and he knows his name very well , hubby just goes along with the names I let him name this one so we have Rocky so I really hope Rocky is a boy but I guess Rocky can be boy or girl , it comes up under unisex names
Luvparrots Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Welcome to Rocky! Can't wait to see more photos and hear more about your new zon!
Codys Mom Posted September 27, 2011 Author Posted September 27, 2011 I have been working alot lately , it's inventory time at my store so I have been putting in some extra hours , I had off today and have friday off , I will be glad when friday gets here I have a vet appt for Rocky and I think he/she has a bacteria infection , today his poops were a light green and yesterday the clear in them had a yellowish tint so I hope it's just a bacteria infection , he seems normal , playing being loud lol and eating good and he had he a really good shower today but he hates the blow dryer I found out I think he is just scared of it
Barbara2 Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 We have a Rocky (Senegal) that is most likely a girl. He/she is 19 years old and I still call him a "he". It's a habit now and I don't think he/she cares one was or another.
bmatrow Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 We also have a Rocky, a barred rock rooster. We were supposed to sell him with the other older chickens we had but we've become so fond of him. Our flock including chickens, turkeys and peafowl are free range. Rocky loves to come to our front porch for treats and attention when we give the peafowl sunflower seed treats in the evening.
Codys Mom Posted September 28, 2011 Author Posted September 28, 2011 I didn't know chickens like sunflower seeds I will try to get some more pics in the next few weeks
bmatrow Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 They won't eat them in the shell but they would eat the whole bag of shelled sunflower seeds.
judygram Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Rocky sounds like a perfect name for this amazon. I have to comment on what you said about the hair dryer, I hope you are not using that to dry Rocky off for it is better to allow birds to dry naturally, using a dryer will only dry their skin out and you don't want that.
Codys Mom Posted September 29, 2011 Author Posted September 29, 2011 I use it on low cool and keep it at least 8 or 10 away from their skin
Ray P Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 Hello Rocky We need anouther zon to help this amazon room get bigger and better. Cricket wants to say hi and welcome
Codys Mom Posted September 30, 2011 Author Posted September 30, 2011 Hiyaaa Cricket Rocky goes to the vet tomorrow for his first exam ,hope he passes with flying colors , I also plan on doing a dna test on him tomorrow and get it sent out by monday , I sent to Avian BioTech and got the kit so cross fingers everyone for a boy
Greywings Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 Just in case Rocky turns out to be a girl then it would be simple to convert it to Roxxie or Roxsanne.
Codys Mom Posted October 1, 2011 Author Posted October 1, 2011 I thought about Roxsie if he is a she but I work with a girl named Rocky so I guess we will keep Rocky her real name is Rachel but everyone calls her Rocky
