Do I need to worry about my birds?

I know that some sicknesses I can get I can pass on to my various pets or them to me. My kids went to the doctor today and both have strep (dang the school, they are always sick since my daughter started school) and I was curious if I needed to worry about my birds that we have close contact with on a regular basis contracting this sort of illness.

No you can't pass that onto your birds. That goes for colds and flu also.

School and Church seem to be our best germ exchange systems, don't know how the teaches stay healthy. You bird will be fine & suggest giving the kids one of those little hand sanitizer packets to take to school and use often.

Yea this is the second time this school year my daughter has brought home strep and gave it to the whole house. We never had that problem when it was just church. And anymore hand sanitizer is on your school shopping list. At least it is here.
