abbie21187
Well here's a couple toy ideas I thought I would share. The first is for my Canary Winged Bee Bee, BB Chu. He has become a master at taking the battery covers off of remotes, he takes it off then runs away with it across the couch with it inside his beak. Well I found an old remote and took the batteries out and replaced them with treats. Now he takes the cover runs away with it drops the cover off then comes back to eat treats. LOL The next is one that i bought about a year ago for BB Chu but he had no interest in it so I gave it to my TAG Eva. It's a Sesame street baby phone that talks. I have it attached to her play stand and she is in love with it. She rubs all over it and acts like she's trying to preen it lol! I guess because it's Grey! She also presses the buttons all day so it talks to her. I swear when she talks she gonna say "Get Lost!" in Oscar the Grouch's voice because that is her favorite button right now. judygram
Most of our fids love to get ahold of remotes and you have found a clever way to offer treats. I have always encouraged new members to browse the baby aisle of stores for good toys for our greys or fids, they usually come in pretty colors and are practically indestructable, thanks for the suggestions. abbie21187
I like to find toys that my Fids can interact with while in there cage. I work full time in the evenings and all day Saturday, so these types of toys really keep the birds occupied while I'm gone. They both have a few toys in there cage that play music on command or talk to them like the phone.
Doug
I know that baby toys are generally built tough enough that the babies don't pull off a piece and choke, but parrots are a bit better than babies when it comes to destructive biting... Aren't you worried Eva will tear off the buttons and get into something inside that could harm her? (I spend a lot of time looking at baby toys and wondering about safety....) My opinion is the same and personally I don't like this toy model, sorry!
snoepgoed123
I got one of these http://www.mybirdstore.com/product.cgi?group=227201&product=245817 yea the toy can be a bit *or a lot* obnoxious when it goes HELLLLOOOOOOOOOO or HE HE HEHE HELOOOOOOOO (depending on whether archimedes is standing on it) but it's made for birds... so that's always an idea... and we keep it by the computer when Archimedes wants to go after the keyboard
