Guest jayrich Posted August 30, 2006 Posted August 30, 2006 1) I've built a nest box for my pair of conures, complete with infra red camera so I can watch them. Should I supply some nesting material in the box, or do they prefer to collect it themselves? 2) My conures are EATING the nest box instead of going inside it. Is this normal or do I have to explain the birds and the bees to them?
Guest jayrich Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 Thanks for the info. It seems they were chewing at the nestbox entrance as it wasn't big enough for them. And I have made a quarter of the inside into a seperate compartment (I looked up the way commercial ones were built). Found the hiding conure by the way, it was going in the airing cupboard (not for heat, the heating is off).
Guest jayrich Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 There ain't a conures group. And the breeding one hardly got anyone in it.
Guest jayrich Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 Wasn't aware of it, shall have a look.
Guest jayrich Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 Experience is the best way of learning. And I'm sure they'll sort things out themselves, it's a natural thing to do.
