Zoom Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Mine does. The only thing is that he poops red afterward. It scared me the first time I saw it - I thought he was pooping blood!
judygram Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 You have to remember that if they eat fresh beets they will have reddish to purple poops afterwards and the tops of beets are good for them also.

Greywings Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 There are also Golden beets not quite so dramatic droppings that way. Great nutrition and you can add to the end of the cooking process of your rice and beans mix along with some Sweet Potato or Squash.
Morana Posted August 2, 2011 Author Posted August 2, 2011 Oh, he is eating beet:-) I hope it lasts:-) We'll be trying out some combinations these days in order to find one where he would eat the other veggies too. I'm kinda hesitant to offer sweet potato because I don't know how would I prepare it without killing all the vitamins and stuff in it which I'm afraid I would do with cooking. Any suggestions?
