Want allot of paper strips?

If you have a paper shredder and dont have random paper but have these hanging around (i have TONS of them lol) Take a paper roll refill cartridge thing ( such as these : **click here**) and set it up on top of the paper shredder it will auto feed till the end of the roll and you have some REALLY long paper strips.

 

I use to braid them to use to attach some random stuff to chains etc. as you can tie them up (and its cheaper then leather if you have a bird who just likes to disassemble things....)

 

They are also handy to make those nifty foraging paper mache balls I posted about earlier.

I just got that crinkled shredded paper in bright orange. I am using it in a small packet with holes in it so that the crinkles can be pulled through and the packet will hold a treat or toy. Scooter tried it out tonight and did exactly what I thought he would. Will photograph it. I got all the supplies at an online paper store the Paper Mart. The packets are a thin natural brown corrugated cardboard and I got paper ribbon in bright turquoise to make it look inviting. I am loading up on supplies so that I can make a bunch of toys. Will post photos if they are successful. Saw one the other day usuaing coffee filters, need to try that one. If you peruse the different toy sites you can get good ideas. Ebay has a lot of bulk parts so it is cheaper.
