ZivaDiva
The bird store I go to said not to feed citrus. I've seen bird recipes that include orange juice or orange slices soo now I'm confused. One of the local bird vets also said not to feed citrus and that includes any mango or papaya. Any idea why they say this? I don't know the reason. And, do you think it's ok to feed some orange slices or juice every now and then?
ranaz
Kookie eats a slice of Orange everyday and he loves it. Once in a while I give him some mango and he also loves the mango seed... its a good source of vitamin C. Lets hear what the others have got to say about this. Dave007
Why?--Too much orange as well as most other fruits are very acidic and most parrots in the wild would never eat such a variety out there other than rosellas who's main diet is almost totally made up of fruit. Fruit once a week is enough.
