ranaz
Wow, they are such a sweethearts, so cute? WHat is teh other parrot? WHat are their names? Im not so experienced with baby parrots but I think you should keep feeding him as long as he needs to be fed. When he is big enough to eat on his own, he will refuse the hand feeding, or continue to eat from your hand, but still eat enough on his own. Offer him the formula twice per day and if you can offer him veggies another twice per day in different times. You can start to offer him pellets as well. As for the cage, I know he can go into a cage once his feathers have grown and once he knows how to perch. If you do put him in a cage, make sure you put the perches as low as possible so that in case he falls, it wouldnt be dangerous. Also put some towels at the bottom, just in case he falls down. Maybe a couple more weeks in the plastic container until you feel he can perch well. Make sure all the utensils you have get cleaned thoroghly and disinfected cos at this fragile age, they have very low immunity. Always wash your heands well before you feed him or handle him. For the utensils and toys, boiling water should kill the germs. Im sure some more experienced members will give you better advice. This forum has a lot of info, so read as many threads as you can and you will learn a lot. Congratulations for having them and sorry about your grandma...May she RIP...
