RBlass
She's almost 1 now. She's completely healthy, there's just a couple of things that I have questions about.. Whenever I just walk into a room and she sees me, she starts doing what sounds like heavy breathing/wheezing and all but jumps to me. It's like an excited wheezing sound. And it stops after I've been there for more than 5 seconds. And another thing -- she sometimes does what looks like regurgitating. But nothing ever comes out. Last question, promise.. It looks like she's plucked a few of her own feathers on her belly. Just 2 or 3. She's barely ever in her cage.. just at night for sleeping. So what would cause her to do this, and how would I fix it? Thanks so much!
judygram
Since it stops after a few seconds I would assume it was just her way of expressing excitement at seeing you since she is regurtating for you, she may go thru the motions without actually bringing up anything for you but it definitely sounds like she loves you. If you have any doubts at all you can always take her to the avian vet if she hasn't been in a while or ever. About the plucking, unless you actually see her do it I wouldn't worry about it, they do lose feathers from time to time.
ranaz
Totally agree with Judygram, might be just her way of expressing her emotions... might be a sound she learned from someone. If this persists for longer times and if you feel she is not comfortable or healthy, the vet will be the best judge
