mcuellar2413 Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 I reached in Kenya's cage this morning to put some treats in her bowl and all of a sudden I felt something warm and slimy on my hand. I looked and it was clear like saliva. Is this regurgitation? Not to be gross but I always excpected food chunks in it.
Elvenking Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 It must be all in what they ate prior to regurgitating, but it does sound like she wants to 'share' with you. And it is an honor.
judygram Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 She had probably just drank some water but it usually is a little food they bring up as a present, you should feel honored.
mcuellar2413 Posted July 5, 2011 Author Posted July 5, 2011 I tried to not act disgusted. I didn't want to hurt her feelings!
Zoom Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 Was it thick and gooey? My Amazon regurgitates thick, clear, gooey stuff. She taps her beak a few times first, usually on her perch or door, and then she spits this stuff out in fairly large quantities.
