CelloChess
Hello! Every now and and then Jimbob will stick his tongue out of the side of his mouth (beak? ). I think he looks extra cute when he does it..but what do you think it means? As in, do you think he's saying he's excited or happy or something when he does it, or is he just doing it because he likes to(parrot habits )? Thanks!!! judygram
I have seen Josey do that from time to time so it must be a grey thing, it is cute to see and it is just one more thing that makes them so special.
MarcusCAG
Hehe, do you have a picture of that you can share??
Trinkapuppy
Both of my current parrots do that! It makes them look like a little kid. hehe Jynx, my BHC plays a game--he sticks his tongue out and waits until I touch it lightly with the tip of my finger, then he sticks it out the other side of his mouth. Eshe just seems to like sticking her out and wiggling it about from time to time. =0 )
CelloChess
@MarcusCAG No, sorry, I don't have a picture of him doing that...I wish I did because it is SO cute!!!!! lol, that's funny about Jynx....but I haven't had Jimbob very long so if I tried to touch his tongue he'd completely freak out. So Jimbob just sticks it out, then sticks it back in after a couple of secs. Also, what kind of parrot is BHC? I don't understand the acronyms yet... Trinkapuppy
Black Headed Caique. =0 ) I'm so....I dunno....kinda obsessed with their mouths and tongues. I almost can't help myself....LOL. Have a couple of scars on my fingers to prove exactly how stupid that is, too, when it comes to a bird I don't know that well, so yeah....smart to wait before you ever try something like that!! Azzie
My 3 year old CAG Cleo does it too, usually not long after eating. It looks to me like she's licking her "lips"
