RobertsKitty
1. If you buy a silk tree and strip if of its leaves it is safe for birds to mouth/chew on as long as they don't eat any of it? 2. Are BRADFORD pear branches safe for birds to chew on etc as long as they haven't been treated with anything? (Bradfords are non-fruit producing type of pear tree) 3. When bringing a Grey into a house with another bird does the Grey become more interested in bonding with the other bird than with the humans of the house or is it nervous/scared of the other birds?

Post edited by: RobertsKitty, at: 2007/09/07 21:

Tari
No idea No idea And it is never a good idea to buy a pet a pet. More then likely they wont bond and they may/can really hurt each other. If you want a second pet get what you want and be prepared to keep them separate at all times. http://www.greyforums.net/understanding-your-grey/african-grays-with-other-birds.html

Post edited by: Tari, at: 2007/09/07 21:
loviechick
The site that nevjoe gave you is the one I have saved in my favorites as referrence to bad stuff for birds! As far as your last question both my Greys were the latest additions to my house, meaning I had others there first. In the wild Greys are flock birds, however they only flock with African Greys. I noticed that with both the CAG's when I brought them home they "checked out" my other birds, but really didn't care one way or the other if they were there. The only times that my Greys care is when one of the "others" gets in "their" space:laugh: Just this last weekend I introduced my Greys and well they beaked at eachother for a bit, then got scared of eachother and both freaked out. They don't seem to have any desire to bond with eachother and that's just fine by me. It all depends on the bird, but neither of my CAG's seemed to care about the other birds in the room, they could take them or leave them!
