Oliver
Hello all, just a quick update of Olly. He is now saying Hello, pretty bird, Olly, Whoa, and making all sorts of sounds. The other day he was talking to himself in his low garbled voice (sounds like someone with a voice box) and then all of a sudden he said "hello" in a sweet womans voice. He put diffenret emphasis on the word that usual. It took me awhile to figure out that he was talking in my voice. Pretty cool!!! Anyway I have two questions. 1. he is doing this really wierd dance like thing where he puts his head down really low and moves his neak around. He pops his neck from side to side. he only doea this to my ex- husband whom he adores, 2. Anyone have any good ways to remove dried birdy poop from wood floors. His is like glue, comes up with some scrubbing, but there has got to be an easier way.
Tari
Question one. Sounds like he is in love with your husband and is wanting to feed him. Question two. I have wood floors and what I do is mix up some or the same stuff I use on the floor only stronger in a spray bottle then soak the spots let it sit while I do other things come back with a brush and clean scrub it off. If you have nice wood floors (I don't they are a mess) you may want to get some plastic mats or put down a shower curtain on the floor so you don't discolor it. Hope this helps. Oliver
Thanks for the advice... I woundered if this was some sort of mating dance. I have to emphasize that it is my ex-husband. Not because I care but only because of the limited contact olly has had with him. He has only been over twice to see olly and both times olly has gotten right on his had and started acting silly. trying to het his attention, rubbing his beak all over his face and dancing. It is so funny. He will not go to strangers without alot of prompting but went to the ex first time.
loviechick
Hey there, to answer your first question it definitely sounds like your bird is trying to regurgitate for your husband, and I use poop off for all my floors and I have laminate wood flooring in my apartment and it works great! Oliver
yes it definitely looks like regurgitating, but why this action? Does it mean the Olly wants to take care of him? Is it just a form of affection?
Tari
They feed their mates and babies. So he is just showing birdy love.
lovemyGreys
As the others have said definitely showing affection for your husband,i have wooden floors if i dont catch the poo before it goes hard i have a little scraper i gently scrape it with ,then wipe with a cloth. Pryde
I soak it in a little white vinager and then simply wipe away. Works great! Doesn't seem to harm the floors at all either.
Falconeer
I dunno the asnswer to question 1, but I sure can answer about the poop (I am a sweage engineer!) Use plastic sheets. I bought transparent type. My two birds poop all they want and even throw food all over and it's a breeze to clean. Hope this helps. Also, dettol and pinesol are nice products

Guest Monique
Sounds like you have good advice already. That dried poop can be like Cement! It is my LEAST favorite thing to clean in the world!! The best thing you can do is soften it by spraying it, waiting, spraying it, waiting, etc. until it is soft enough to wipe the whole thing off. Or as another poster said if your floors are durable enough to withstand a scraper then that is certainly a great option as well!!!
Falconeer
Vinegar works! I tried it and it is great. Put it in a Windex bottle and spray. I still love the plastic sheets I use though.
