Tagtastic
I thought I read somewhere Timneh's are more likely to be accepting of everyone?!?! Guess she broke that mold. Lollie does not seem to like anyone but me. She will tolerate my daughter when I am not around but if I am she will get defensive, puff up neck feathers and try to bite. For my boys and my husband....the ONLY time she will let them near her is if she happens to fly to the floor and need "rescued" or if they give her a treat, all other times she will act like she is going to bite, even if I am not around. To make matters worse, now the boys and my husband are afraid of her so they stand arms length away and ask her to step up LOL. Recently, they've pretty much given up trying. My daughter, bless her heart, tries very hard but gets frustrated at Lollie's Jekyll/Hyde routine. She bit her today, a hard pinch but not hard enough to draw blood. She said that she told her "OW, that hurts, bad girl" and put her in her cage. I'm not sure that was the best reaction and I am not sure exactly her dramatic the OW! was. Any advice would be appreciated. She is only 7 months old and I do know it was mostly females at the breeders house, the husband(and only male) was out of town frequently, could that have something to do with the reaction to the males here? Is she a hopeless cause?
louie
My husband picks up Sierra and promptly gives her to me. He holds her a little longer each time. The idea is that she associates him picking her up with getting to go to me - her favorite. Also, I tell Sierra I'm going to take a shower and once I'm in there my husband picks her up and brings her to me in the shower (another favorite.) We're working hard to have her like as many people as possible since someday we may die of old age and she will have to be socialized enough to adapt to a new home! Luvparrots
I am my Tag's favorite, well, she only lives with me that is. She does like my two grandsons, one is 22 and one is 11, and will fly to them and sit on their shoulders. She chooses to go to them, they never try to pick her up. My oldest daughter is also someone she tolerates, especially if she has something that Ana Grey wants to eat.
