Is this learning to talk? Help read..

Hi All,

So happy to be in such a knowledgeable and helpful forum!

This is my Sunny. She is 5 months old, and has been home with me for about 5 days. She started making a lot of these noises in the last day or 2.

Perhaps you guys/gals can help me read what this might mean? Is she learning to talk, or telling me something else, or?

Hi Rick. My Simon is the same age as Sunny, and he makes similar noises. A month ago he didn't make those noises, so I guess it's part of their vocal development?

Our Grey made similar noises when she was little and began talking before 6 months. Many don't really start talking much until well after 1 year old. She's a little chatterbox though - if I had to guess I'd say she'll be a talker.......

My boy (who will be coming home in a fortnight) I've heard make noises which sounds a little like a cross between a puppy and sighing, if that makes sense?

 

I guess because I'm not there all the time I haven't heard the full extent of it. He's ten months old. Could this be a sign he's "practicing" his words?

It`s fun to listen to them make their little sounds and hear the sounds turn into words as they grow.

I can't hardly wait to bring home my baby and hear all the wonderful new sounds he might come up with! I loved this video! Only a couple more weeks to wait here!
