Eshana
I re-arranged my room when I got Jon so that both Jon and Shelby can be by the window. This was on Sunday. Today is Tuesday. Ever since we moved here when I was little, you would only hear the birds outside in the morning. I mean, we don't get much here except for sparrows and pigeons and other small brown birds. You would hear them chirping from 5am-9am and that is it. Now, since Sunday evening I started hearing the birds outside. Monday morning I woke up and there were bird droppings EVERYWHERE outside. I just got home from a morning class, and I saw birds I've never seen before flying and perching onto my roof. I'm not talking three or four, I'm talking seven to ten, possibly more that I can't see. You can hear them all day! Jon is a quiet little baby, but Shelby has been singing and chirping all day. Is it possible that he is attracting these wild birds? I don't personally care, but the 'rents are getting pretty bemused.
judygram
They very well may be drawn to Shelby's chirping even though they may not see him they can hear him. I have my fid's cages across the room from the big windows as Sunny, my sun conure is frightened by anything that flies by those windows, she thinks even those planes that go overhead are out to get her. Eshana
I have seen such an improvement in Shelby's attitude that I really don't want to move him. I suppose I'll need to hook a hose outside to get rid of all the droppings!
judygram
If he enjoys being close by the window then by all means leave him there but my conure is on constant lookout even when she is out of the cage that I couldn't put her near a window, she even goes down my back to sit when I am at the kitchen sink doing something as she is afraid she will see something fly by, the little bugger.
