monipinkrose
Hi1 I have a male african grey. I was wondering if getting another male grey is a good idea? Will they be compatible or should I get a different bird like a cockatoo. Any help is welcomed.
Luvparrots
Some of our members have other parrots that are compatible with their greys. My grey is very attached to me and dive bombs any other bird I have that gets too close to me. So, it all depends on the grey. My parrots are for my enjoyment, not my grey's. So, I guess the question is how well do you know your grey, because it depends on its personality and bonding to you.
Ray P
We have a congo grey and a blue fronted zon and they get along or at least tolerate each other.
Popsicle
This is one doubt I have as well... do parrots necessarily need to have a companion? Or can it be happy being the only bird in the house? As long as the owners give them the right amount of attention of course.
Luvparrots
Ana Grey does not associate with my zon, Louie. As far as she is concerned she is a human. She eats with me and I have considered just letting her sleep on a swing in my bedroom at night. But that might be going a little too far.
judygram
It is very iffy if another grey even a male will get along with your current bird, they are all individuals and usually unless they are raised together they do not get along but maybe tolerate each other. I think if you want another bird it could be any of the species of parrots if you are looking for companionship.
