stopped talking--what does it mean?

Hi!

I have an 11-month old TAG named Jimbob. I've had him/her since he was about a 4 months old. He/she usually says a lot of human stuff that we have taught him, but lately he has mostly been just making bird noises I have never heard before--with the exception of a little "jimbob'' or something like that every now and then. I read from a previous thread that this is normal, but I was wondering what this behaviour means. Is he maturing or something? Or is that just what they do?

Thanks!!! :)

Your bird has temporarily stopped mimicing human words but he hasn't stopped talking. Right now, he's making different types of bird sounds that are more natural than human speech. They'll be times in the future when your bird will go back and forth doing human mimicing and natural parrot sounds. As long as he's talking in whatever language, that'll mean that he's healthy and doing what comes naturally.

How long before he switches? No way to tell because he's getting older and more talented.
