mcuellar2413
What age can I give my baby her first bath? I don't want to get her sick but she has a strange odor to her. She is about 6 weeks now. Thanks.
judygram
I would not bathe her until she has all her feathers but if she has an unpleasant odor then by all means use a warm damp cloth to wipe her off and see if that helps, make sure she does not have formula caked on her anywhere and change her bedding often. Dave007
Not until your bird is 10 wks or older. Usually, many of the things that are first done such as bathing usually occur with birds that are weaned. Birds have strong outer feathers that are developed after they're weaned. A 6 week old chick has none so it can't shake off water and at that age, they don't have the ability to dry themselves and to preen themselves. mcuellar2413
Ok I will wait, I have just been wiping her off with a warm paper towel after her feedings. She is so cute she tries to preen herself but then tips over. Luckily her big sister Samba the sun conure is helping her out.
