My best advice: take very small baby steps. If it's not working, take smaller steps.

I have a 9 month old TAG. When I got him I started training him to wear his harness. I started with just getting his head in the loop. I did that for several days. After a period of time with small lessons daily, I was able to get the harness all the way on. Then the winter weather rolled in. I lost motivation and stopped. I just started back up the other day. I have to go back to step minus 10! I couldn't even get the harness close to his head without him freaking out. After 3 days, I finally got a big loop of the harness over his head for about two seconds before his pulled away. It's going to be a much longer process to get him back into that harness. The keys to success are small steps and big patience.

Hello Jaquiscorpio and welcome to our family, Shelly is right as once you join you are a part of our family and will be treated as such.

I can imagine that if your grey was a wild caught one then he does have some issues that most of us have not had to deal with as our birds for the most part are hand raised greys. But as you have found out time and patience is what will work the best as they are not an easy bird to win over and their trust has to be earned.

You will find lots of useful information in our many threads so do read thru them at your leisure and ask those questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can.

We love pictures here so if you have some of Sidney you would share with us that would be great.
