May be getting a grey.

Recommended Posts

Hello. I am so glad to have found this site. I am going this Saturday to look at some young greys'. I have wanted one for awhile now. I have an eclectus that I have had for 10 months. She has never made up with me yet. I still try but she won't even let me touch her. She is a beauty too.

I had a re-homed umbrella too & loved him dearly but after some really bad bites my family persuaded me to find a new home for him. I still miss him very much. He is very happy with his new owner which is a male & I think he really preferred men anyway.

So, I hope to learn a lot from reading the posts. Thank you so much for letting me join in.

Welcome! There is a lot of great info in each of the forums + plenty of wonderful members who are happy to help as you educate yourself in the Grey world. Please research as much as you can to be prepared for the new addition & to make the transition easy on you both. Patience is very important, especially for Greys.

Keep us posted on your search!

Hello Lindaindy and welcome to our family, so glad to hear you want to add a grey to your life.

You have come to the right place to learn all you can about these amazing creatures as we share our life with one, two or more greys and have firsthand experience in dealing with them.

You will learn lots of useful information by reading thru the threads here and do ask questions you may have and we will help you in any way we can.

Please let us know how the visit goes this Saturday and maybe get a picture or two if you can and share with us.

We are considering adding a Grey to our family as well, Lindaindy!! We have to wait to see the babies until March 20th. The suspense is killing us!!!...LOL We have been considering one for a while now and been reading this forum for the past two weeks and have found more helpful information on here then any other source....so far. Ordered a few books to read up on these magnificent creatures. We want to be well educated prior to making our commitment to be great Parronts!!! Best of luck to you and definately keep us posted. Maybe we can compare notes when we get our new babies!!

Welcome!

You definitely can't top a grey :) But each does have its own personality and quirks. We lucked out in the grey department with Merlin, but I also put a lot of hard work and effort the first year to ensure he was properly socialized with different people and situations.

Have you met some non-baby greys before? I would definitely recommend that first, as the babies will definitely win you over :)
