He goes for the shoulder! (how can I prevent?)

Any time my grey hangs out on me he bolts towards my shoulder, biting on to my t-shirt to get him up (he took a good chomp of my nip! =[

I don't think he under stands step-up yet. But like I said, when he does step on to my hand he goes rite to the shoulder.

What practice can be taken to prevent him from going to the shoulder? Even if hand stepping he will continously reach his head out trying to get a hold of my t-shirt to pull him self up.

Another question, when training what do you guys give your grey as treats? I dunno what my guy goes crazy for, I have only had him for 2 days!

Thanks.

If you don't want your grey on your shoulder then you will have to keep taking him down when he tries to get up there, take your other hand and put it in front of him and block his way and when he gets on that arm then keep doing it, eventually he will get the message but it will take lots of times. You have only had him for a couple of days so be patient with him but it is natural for them to want to go for the highest place on you other than your head.

Most greys love sunflower seeds but nuts are great treats, just watch when you offer him things what he goes for first.
