Guest
ok so i know this is probably a repost but here goes, is just your average 2x4 a safe wood to use for making bird toys?
Ray P
Untreated pine 2x4 is ok. Go to your lumber yard and they have a cut off box that you can pick out scrap or cut offs for free
birdhouse
You might also check this out if you wanted to use some natural woods. My guys particularly like stripping bark. http://www.avianweb.com/safewoods.html
Guest
ok so untreated pine is good, how about rope for connecting them all together when im done just a good cotton or what?
birdhouse
Have to be careful that it's not treated with anything. Probably best to buy specifically "bird safe" rope, which you can find on the internet. If you look through the "Homemade Toys & Playstands" forum, you'll find where this has been discussed & some possibles website where you might get some.
