gotfaith1989
I am getting my first CAG tomorrow. My hubby is picking him up and I won't get to meet him until Wednesday night, so I'm trusting my hubby to do everything right the first couple days. I am so nervous and scared, yet excited out of my mind that my dream is finally coming true! I am scared of the unexpected...scared I'm getting in over my head. Scared I'll do something wrong, much like every mother feels the first time she steps into her home with her newborn without any nurses or doctors. I am so stoked though!!! Man, is this a crazy feeling! I will barely be able to sleep tonight in anticipation!!!
Barbara2
I felt the same way before I got my TAG in September. He was actually flown in and my hubby went to pick him up at the airport. I wanted to do everything the exact, right way. He's been home with us for 3 months now and just like with a baby, I have come to realize that there is no exact or perfect when dealing with a living being with a personality of their own. Love and patience rule the game every time.

Birdnut
You are right. It's so like bringing home a first baby. I was also so anxious and nervous when we brought our Moussa home. I felt like this was a really significant little bit of consciousness we were taking responsibility for -- that he could have a long life and probably more than one owner, and I wanted to give him a good start. The first week or two I was so nervous with him. But he settled right in and became a member of the family. He's almost a year old now, and I can't imagine things without him. I would think that you weren't taking it seriously enough if you weren't excited and nervous.
