Thanks for posting this. I had not seen it before. This is a great idea, as it is action in the interest of the birds, while still respecting the traditions of the Native American people. I do not own a macaw, but I think I will print this information and post it on the bulletin board at our local bird specialty store.

 

Some of the molted feathers from our flock are so beautiful, I can't stand to throw them away. I have collected colorful feathers for a local artist who uses them in her work. I am currently collecting feathers to have made into an ornament for my drum.

And by the way the feathers don't have to be macaw feathers, They are looking for all feathers over an inch long

Ok, I sent translated letter and link from above to our zoo, biggest pet shops in my town and my vet. I'll be sending my feathered letters ;-) when I get better. And now i remembered I could also send it to the other people from my mailing list..Thank you for this useful post! :-)
